- History
- Trans Lingual Express is the realization of a dream for our Founding Principal, Mr. Shane Wall. Mr. Wall has been a continuous resident or visitor to Southeast Asia for more than 25 years. He has an intimate knowledge and understanding of the cultural, linguistic, political and sociological differences and similarities between the peoples and countries of the region.
- In 1995 he established his first language services company in an effort to bring the languages of Southeast Asia into the mainstream of the global conscience. The success of this effort resulted in the company being purchased by a far-sighted client. Trans Lingual Express has its genesis in this Australian organization, and Mr. Wall continues his efforts as our Director.
- Mr. Wall is a decorated former member of the Australian Navy who speaks fluent Vietnamese and Tok Pisin, Pijin and Bislama, ‘street-level’ Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Melayu, and self-confessed ‘bad’ Cantonese, Japanese, Tagalog and Thai. He has never lost his passion for the languages, peoples and countries of Southeast Asia.
